Practice Policies

How this practice runs, in plain terms.

Communication

Email is our preferred channel for anything that is not urgent, and it is usually faster than the phone. Please allow up to five business days for a reply. Emails are reviewed once appointments, results and reports are finished for the day, which is how same-day appointments stay available.

Dr Morris does not provide clinical advice by email. If you need a clinical answer, book an appointment. Telehealth is usually available the same day if you book by 8am.

For anything urgent, phone the switchboard. In an emergency, call 000.

Results

Most pathology results come back within three working days. Cervical screening often takes one to two weeks. Some tests take longer.

Once all your results are in, you will get a message through HotDoc. If you have not heard anything after two weeks, email reception and we will chase it.

If you opt out of HotDoc recalls, following up your results becomes your responsibility, including abnormal ones. Urgent recalls are handled by our nurses, and if we cannot reach you a letter goes to the address on your file, so please keep it current.

Repeat prescriptions and referrals

Repeat prescriptions and referrals generally require an appointment. This is not an administrative preference. It is how medicines get reviewed and how referrals stay appropriate.

Schedule 8 medicines, including ADHD stimulants, cannot be issued early and cannot be issued by telehealth. Details are on the ADHD page.

Chaperones

You are welcome to have a chaperone present for any examination, and you can bring your own support person. A practice nurse chaperone is offered where relevant, and you can ask for one at any time without giving a reason.

Interpreters and access

If English is not your first language, we can arrange an interpreter at no cost to you through the Translating and Interpreting Service. Please let us know when you book so we can organise it.

If you have accessibility requirements, tell us in advance and we will do what we can to accommodate them.

Appointments, fees and non-attendance

In short: fees and Medicare rebates are shown on HotDoc before you confirm, please arrive ten minutes early, and a non-attendance fee applies if you miss your appointment or arrive more than ten minutes late.

After hours and emergencies

The practice is not an emergency service. In an emergency, call 000 or go to your nearest emergency department.

If you think you need PEP, do not wait for an appointment. See the HIV, PrEP and PEP page.

Feedback and complaints

If something has not gone well, please tell us. Most things can be sorted out quickly and we would much rather know.

Email specialisedmedical@bondimed.com.au or ask at reception. We will acknowledge your feedback within five business days and respond in writing, normally within 30 days. Raising a concern will not affect your care.

If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Health Care Complaints Commission on 1800 043 159 or at hccc.nsw.gov.au. For privacy matters specifically, see our privacy policy.
