You can also call the NSW PEP Hotline on 1800 889 887 at any time.
PEP must be started within 72 hours of a possible exposure to HIV to be effective. The sooner it is started, the better it works.
Do not book an appointment online. Booking will slow you down.
Walk in immediately and tell reception you need an emergency PEP appointment, and ask for Dr Morris. Before midday on a weekday is best.
PrEP
PrEP is a medication taken before possible exposure to reduce the risk of acquiring HIV. Dr Morris manages PrEP for patients in person and by telehealth.
Each script comes with a pathology form to use in three months, before your next script is issued. If you have lost yours, email reception and a replacement will be sent out.
HIV care with your own GP
HIV is now a manageable long-term condition. Treatment has changed enormously, and people living with HIV can expect a long and healthy life.
What has not changed is how fragmented the care can feel when your HIV is managed in one place and everything else about your health is managed somewhere else. Dr Morris is an accredited S100 HIV community prescriber, which means your HIV care and your general medical care can sit with one doctor, in one file, at one practice. Coordination improves, and so do outcomes.
He maintains close links with sexual health specialists and HIV services across Sydney, and undertakes regular continuing professional development in HIV medicine.
Dr Morris cares for straight patients living with HIV as well as LGBTQ+ patients living with HIV.
