Sexual health
Discreet, routine, and usually easier to arrange than you are expecting.
Most people who need a sexual health check put it off, and almost none of them put it off because they do not want to know. They put it off because the asking feels awkward.
It is not awkward here. It is routine, it is confidential, and it is a large part of what this practice does.
STI checks
Book a sexual health appointment, by phone or in person. Whichever you choose, it is usually a short conversation about what you need, followed by a pathology form.
Most checks need nothing more than a urine sample and a blood test. Medicare rebates apply to most consultations.
If your results are clear, you will get a message telling you so, usually within three to five business days. If you would rather not receive results that way, tell Dr Morris and it will be handled differently.
Hepatitis C treatment
Hepatitis C is now curable for the great majority of people who are treated, with a course of tablets taken at home over a matter of weeks. Treatment is subsidised through the PBS for people with Medicare, and it is managed here in general practice rather than requiring a hospital clinic.
Dr Morris is authorised to prescribe this treatment. While you are under his care, and until your hepatitis C is cleared, appointments relating to it are bulk billed for healthcare card holders and pensioners.
Hepatitis B
Dr Morris is experienced in hepatitis B management and monitoring, and offers shared care with local hepatology units.
He held S100 prescribing authorisation for hepatitis B between 2022 and 2026 and no longer does, simply because too few patients needed it to keep the accreditation current. Ongoing monitoring and shared care are unaffected.
LGBTQ+ sexual health
